Does anyone know the difference between grant writing and proposal writing? OR do they mean the same thing?
Answer: They are not the same thing (although in some cases the terms could be used interchangeably). Grant writing refers to writing proposals to secure donated grants from funders for nonprofit projects. Proposal writing is a much broader term that encompasses grant writing, research proposal development, and business proposal development, and more.
For example, if you need to develop and write a business proposal, the US Small Business Administration has tons of great free resources for small business owners seeking financing. (The link takes you to their business plan page.)
If you are looking for grant funds to carry out charitable work, we also have collections of example proposals on this site and proposal development tutorial and a proposal template that takes the guess work out of developing your boilerplate proposal.
